Click “Edit in builder” and the extracted data populates the resume builder, where you can restyle it with any of our free ATS templates and download a new PDF.
Completely. The file is parsed locally by your browser using pdf.js and Mammoth — it is never uploaded to a server, stored in a database, or shared with anyone. Close the tab and the data is gone from the tool (unless you save it to your own browser profile in the builder).
PDF, DOCX and TXT files up to 8 MB, plus direct text paste. Text-based PDFs exported from Word, Google Docs or any resume tool import cleanly. Scanned or image-only PDFs have no selectable text, so use the paste option after copying from a viewer.
Parsing is heuristic, so dates or bullets from unusual layouts sometimes need a tweak. Every imported field lands in the builder as fully editable text — you review and fix before downloading, so the final resume is exactly what you want.
If it exports as a text-based PDF or DOCX, yes — the importer reads the content, not the design. Layout graphics are dropped by design, because everything is rebuilt inside MineResume's ATS-friendly templates instead.
